Subject: Mother's Day with some 6th graders

Recently I had the honor of helping some special 6th graders make a surprise for their moms.  Some of the girls that come to tutoring asked if we could do something to celebrate their mothers.  Cupcakes!

They each decorated a dozen cupcakes.

Karla and Anita, cousins.

Daniela decorated too!

We love Miss Karla.  Her mother, Xiomara, showed me where to buy produce, how to handle the ladies yelling at me at the market, and the quickest way to wash clothes by hand at the pila.

Their beautiful creations.

Miss Kenia and Miss Karin.

What a joy to share this time with these young ladies.  They were so excited to pick the colors and flavors, and to learn how to use a decorator bag and tips.   Now they want to go into business.

I love how they got to be creative, have a fun time, and share a treat with their mamas.

Thank you for sharing with us so that we can share with them.
