Subject: Family

Today I viewed the wedding pictures from Mark's brother's wedding that took place a few weekends ago.  They were beautiful.  It is so wonderful that internet can show us all of the things that we miss with family.   Viewing the pictures also resurfaced that pain that gnaws at my heart though.  The pain of living so very far away from family and friends, and not yet the means to visit.  It is very hard to not be with extended family to celebrate holidays, events, and everyday life.  Many people ask us what is the hardest thing that you have had to live without.  It is not the water, it is the not being with family and friends that we love so much.   I try to refocus at times like today when I become very sad and blue.  I try not to focus on what I have left, but on the blessings that I have.  I pray for those that I am remembering, and then thank God for what they mean to me.  Instead of lamenting about what I no longer have, I want to always thank God for what I do have, and that is much. Sometimes I am not as quick, and my heart becomes very heavy, and I wonder if I will ever get used to being here in Honduras.   You can pray for me to be strengthened, and to be content in the new memories and friends that God has for us here.   Paula
