Subject: Advent Day 8

 Today I came to my time with a heavy heart, sadness over hurt I see in one of my children.  I brought that hurt to the Father and as always He meets me.

This morning the first reading is in Isaiah 35:1-10, and really no words of mine can say it like the Word.

Isaiah 35:1-10New American Standard Bible (NASB)

Zion’s Happy Future

35 The wilderness and the desert will be glad,
And the [
a]Arabah will rejoice and blossom;
Like the crocus
It will blossom profusely
And rejoice with rejoicing and shout of joy.
The glory of Lebanon will be given to it,
The majesty of Carmel and Sharon.
They will see the glory of the Lord,
The majesty of our God.
Encourage the [
b]exhausted, and strengthen the [c]feeble.
Say to those with anxious heart,
“Take courage, fear not.
Behold, your God will come with vengeance;
The recompense of God will come,
But He will save you.”
Then the eyes of the blind will be opened
And the ears of the deaf will be unstopped.
Then the lame will leap like a deer,
And the tongue of the mute will shout for joy.
For waters will break forth in the wilderness
And streams in the [
The [
e]scorched land will become a pool
And the thirsty ground springs of water;
In the haunt of jackals, its resting place,
Grass becomes reeds and rushes.
A highway will be there, a roadway,
And it will be called the Highway of Holiness.
The unclean will not travel on it,
But it will be for him who walks that way,
And fools will not wander on it.
No lion will be there,
Nor will any vicious beast go up on it;
f]These will not be found there.
But the redeemed will walk there,
10 And the ransomed of the Lord will return
And come with joyful shouting to Zion,
With everlasting joy upon their heads.
They will [
g]find gladness and joy,
And sorrow and sighing will flee away.

Hallelujah, that is my now and my future!  I do see the glory and the majesty of our God and one day I will see it even clearer.  So I take courage and will not fear, He saves me.  No fool will wander there, the redeemed will walk there.

The second reading today is Psalm 85: 9-14.  Lovingkindness and truth have met.  Righteousness and peace have kised.  Truth springs from the earth, and righteousness looks down from heaven.  This says Incarnation to me!  He has given what is good and forever.

Then Luke 7:17-36.  Who has the power to forgive and heal but Jesus?  And He indwells me.

What a glorious God.  He gives courage, He encourages the exhausted and strenghtens the feeble.  I do know Him now, but will know Him even more.  What a promise.  He is more than enough, there is no scarcity.  He has given His Son for my salvation.  Lord I pray for the humility to ask for your help and an open heart to accept.
