Subject: Advent Day 10

Today's first reading is Isaiah 40: 25-31.  I am always drawn to this scripture because of the hope and promise of renewal.  There is none equal to HIm.  He created the stars and calls them by name.  My way is never hidden from Him, He knows all.  He is the Creator of the ends of the earth and never tires or wearies.  He has inscrutable understanding.  He gives me, us, the weary. strength.  When I lack, He increases power.  I can wait on HIm for strength.

"They will mount up with winds like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary."  Is. 40:31

Psalm 103 praises Him.  Bless the Lord and that I would not forget His greatness and goodness to me.  He forgives my sins.  He heals me.  He redeems me from the pit.  He crowns me with lovingkindness and compassion.  He satisfies my years with good so that I am renewed like the eagle.  Bless the Lord.

Matthew 11:28-30, HIs promise to us.  I can come weary and He gives rest.  I can learn from Him, the gentle and humble ways of the Shepherd.  My soul finds rest in Him.  His yoke is easy and His burden is light.  So many minutes of the day I don't believe this.  I want to.  I pray that it would be deep in my soul.  That when I see all of the need around me, that when the little broken hearts that call me mommy and ask for more than I feel I have, that I would feel and know His yoke.  His yoke that gives rest, gentleness, and humility.  That my soul would wait for the strength of Him rather than the rapid fire managerial response of me.

He is Promise.  He does not dealt with me according to my shortcoming, my sin.  As high as the sky is above me that is the vastness of His lovingkindness to me as I reverence and yes, even fear Him.  He is mindful that I am but dust.  So I wait on Him.  My soul waits.  And I believe the promise.  I wait and believe.  Oh I taste the goodness of the Lord, I know in the marrow of my bones His goodness to me.  I bless the Lord.
