Subject: Tell It To The Judge
Message:

How many times have you heard someone say that Christians are not supposed to judge others? To a degree, that is correct. For sure we should not judge others of things we ourselves are guilty of.

"Do not judge so that you will not be judged. “For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you. “Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? “Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ and behold, the log is in your own eye? “You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.

Matt 7:1-5 NAS

We are currently reading 1 Corinthians in our nightly devotional time with the kids. Last night we read the first part of chapter 5. I have read it before, multiple times, but my forgetory is better than my memory.

In the passage, Paul instructs the Corinthians to remove a member of their church and hand him over to Satan. The man is guilty of carnal relations with his father's wife, and the church is proud of that fact...Not sure, but it sounds like a little "judging" is happening.

The part that I loved about this passage is that even though Paul says to hand the man over to Satan, it is to destroy the man's flesh. Nevertheless, he says that the man's spirit will be saved.

I am thankful our Lord is so merciful. Even in our worst sin, we cannot be taken away!
