Subject: Advent Day 3

This morning my first thought after one batch of kids went off to school was to crawl back in the bed and cry until some issues went away or even seal up my heart and hate until the issues went away.  My second thought was to eat a big candy bar and drink a coke (not that I had those lying around).  Neither happened.  I had waited for my advent moments while getting the kids ready to go, and I was taking them!  I am so thankful that His Word is alive and that it brings light, comfort, encouragement, rebuke, and wisdom to my soul.

I read Psalm 25 and Isaiah 7.  In both passages there were people waiting.  In both there were people in great distress, war, and surrounded by enemies.  This morning that is how I felt, surrounded by the enemy that wants to pluck off our kids.

Then this.

Psalm 25:8-9 "Good and upright is the Lord; Therefore He instructs sinners in the way, He leads the humble in justice, And He teaches the humble His way."

And then there was Luke 20:1-8, Jesus and His authority.

So today I will wait on His way, His authority.  And while I wait, I will listen for His teaching, path, and truth.   He comes.  One day every heart will be turned to His face and every bondage of the past will be ripped apart, rendered powerless.  I pray this for every child that God has placed in our care.  He comes.
