Subject: Advent Day 4

 Reveation 7: 14-17

" .....They washed their robes in the blood of the Lamb and made them white.  That is why they are standing in front of the throne of God, serving him day and night in his Temple.  And he who sits on the throne will live among them and shelter them.  They will never again be hungry or thirsty, and they will be fully protected from the scorching noontime heat.  For the Lamb who stands in front of the throne will be their Shepherd.  He will lead them to the springs of life-giving water.  And God will wipe away all of their tears."

White.  Washed.  Shepherd.  Tears wiped away by God.

"Awaken us to your coming and bend our angers to your peace."

I read this prayer this morning and I was so convicted.  I have an issue with an issue going on with one of our kiddos right now.  I often feel anger.  I want it bent to His peace.  Because ultimately what I want for this child is healing, wholeness, redemption.  I want to see this child of the King white, washed, shepherded, tears wiped away.  And I think at times my anger is because I begin to doubt that it will ever happen on this earth.

And then Luke 20:9-20, the farmers who kill the ones sent by the owner to pick the grapes.  They kill the son and Jesus says, "The stone rejected by the builders has now become the cornerstone."  I think of the times that I reject His building in my heart in favor of ease or comfort.

So today in Advent the words for me are conviction and coming.   I see Him.  White.  Shepherd.  Wiping away my tears.
