If you are as big of a fan of the Gospels, you've no doubt read the accounts of Christ's life on Earth more than any other books of Bible. So many times Jesus compares us to sheep, and himself to a lamb. I am so blessed to finally witness these very animals, and observe their behavior.
One of the first observations is that these animals are afraid of everything that walks. We have two dogs and they both scare the putty out of the whole flock. They pay very little attention to me as I walk with them, and direct them to good pasture. When a dog is anywhere in view, the whole flock stops and directs its gaze towards the dog. I can tell the dog to scat, and it does, but the sheep just keep on looking where the dog was.
I wonder how many times we sense fear, ask for the Lord to intervene, he chases the object of our fear away, but we still keep on looking, fearing something other than God?
