The one thing I feared about leading our nightly devotional, was mis-pronouncing something in Spanish and end up saying some foul word while reading the Bible. Well, it took a year. One of our studies was about the words we use: Proverbs 16:24 Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones. In Spanish, the phrase to describe honeycomb is "panal de miel". There is another word in Spanish, which I am much more familiar with because we use them daily. The word is spelled ALMOST the same: paņal. Panal is pronounced: pah-nahl Paņal is pronounced: pan-yahl By pronouncing it paņal, I actually said something like this: Proverbs 16:24 Pleasant words are a honey diaper, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones. ... When Paula and Hannah returned, I noticed two things right off. #1 - Hannah is taller than her mother. #2 - Hannah is about to be taller than I.
