Subject: Psalm 43

Lately with all of our little health issues and not sleeping well I have had some exhausting times.  It is easy when you are exhausted to not acknowledge God's goodness.  But even just a little time with Him or in His word can quickly set us back to our first love.   It really is about His desire for relationship with us, and our desparate need to have relationship with Him.  So many things can distract from this, whether in Honduras, the United States, or in a hospital bed.   Busyness, others, exhaustion, duties, fears, doubts, infirmities, TV; all of these we can put above our time in His restorative presence.  But why do we???   Do we forget that His glorious new covenant gives us life and freedom?  This morning I became truly overjoyed in the Word.  He is transforming us into His image the Word says, His life brings us righteousness and hope.  In this we can be bold.   (2 Corinthians 4)  Then the beautiful words of Psalm 43 to which today I can very much relate;   "  You are God my stronghold Why have you rejected me? Why must I go on mouring, oppressed by the enemy? Send forth your light and your truth, Let them guide me; Let them bring me to your holy mountain, Then I will go to the altar of God, To God, my joy and my delight. I will praise you with the harp, Oh God, My God. Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why  so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, For I will yet praise Him, My Savior and My God. " Paula
