Subject: Teaching Math and Algebra

I thoroughly enjoy teaching math, physics and any kind of science. These are subjects I have a little bit of confidence in and I like it when the lights go on in the students. The problems arise when the lights do not come on or do not stay on. I am not a natural born teacher (to say the least). As much as I try to go slow, the excitement of teaching a new subject invariably causes headaches when the student cannot keep up (through no fault of their own).      For this reason, I want to express my appreciation again to my favorite teacher in all my school years (K-University). That teacher is definitively Mr. McCormick of Lake Travis High School. He is probably long gone from that school, but his patience and unwillingness to let anyone of us fall behind still sets the mark for my teaching goals. He would teach us any subject until the class had mastered it. Mr. "Mack" taught algebra 2, trigonometry, pre-calculus and calculus.  He also took on "Computer Math" back when the only affordable computers were Radio Shack TRS-80's.      Kudos to Mr. Mack, wherever you might be!
